A residential school project at Panchgaon Mines near Nagpur for children of migrant labourers working in stone quarries there has been taken up by a charity trust called Amrapali Utkarsh Sangh. Missameal Trust is associated with this project. Amrapali Utkarsh Sangh, under their project called Vimalashram Gharkul has provided home to nearly 50 children of prostitutes. They also started an unrecognized school for the children of migrant labourers at Panchgaon mines. It is proposed to set up a residential school for these children where they can be provided free education, lodging and boarding. Missameal Trust provides help to Amrapali Utkarsh Sangh by way of preparation of reports & appeals for contribution and collection of donation. Donations received by Missameal Trust with a specific stipulation to use it for the Residential School Project are sent to Amrapali Utkarsh Sangh.

Amrapali Utkarsh Sangh, Nagpur
Amrapali Utkarsh Sangh is doing wonderful work for the education and over all rehabilitation of children from the red light areas of Nagpur and is also working for the children of immigrant workers who work in 110 stone quarries located about 25 km
from Nagpur. They have successfully inculcated in these children a feeling of compassion and strong desire to help other underprivileged persons, specially the children of the immigrant workers of Bihar and Orissa working in the stone mines
near Nagpur. In addition, they are conducting day classes near the mines for children of immigrant miners. However, due to the fact that the immigrant miners go away to their villages almost three times a year for about 45 days each time, they are building a residential school. These children can then stay there even if their parents go away to the villages.http://www.arpanfoundation.org/projects/projects.asp

CHILDLINE 1098 NAGPUR : Nodal Organization

Childline is a 24-hour free emergency telephone help line service for children in difficult circumstances. It began its operations as a field action project of the TISS in Mumbai in 1996. Subsequently the project was upscaled to other towns and districts in India under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GoI (since 2006, the project has been transferred to the Ministry of Women & Child Development, GoI). Due to the efforts of the Institute, Nagpur became the third city in the country to commence Childline 1098 operations in the year 1998 with the support of the Childline India Foundation and the Government of India.

The Institute has been appointed as the Nodal Organization for Nagpur Childline, which is run by a network of voluntary organizations, with the help of trained and fulltime social workers, namely: Collaborating Orgn – Apang va Niradhar Bahuddheshiya Kalyankari Sanstha, supported by: Varadaan, ISSUE, and BBSKBS. An advisory committee under the chairmanship of the District Collector functions as the apex body. Mr Keshav Walke, faculty at the Institute is the Hony. Director of the Nodal Organization. As on February 2007, Nagpur Childline, whose telephone number is 1098, received a total of 1,49,199 calls (as on 15 Feb 2007) since its inception.
