Youngsterz Sandan valley-Ratangad Fort- Kaladgad fort and Harishchandragad 23rd to 26th Jan 2009

Hi friends,

We, Youngsterz, have arranged a trek to Sandan valley-Ratangad Fort- Kaladgad fort and Harishchandragad on 23rd to 26th Jan 2009.

The itinerary for the Trek is as given below:

Day one
Take first Kasara local and get down at Kasara,
From Kasara take Akola(7.30am) bus and get down at Shendi (10.00am),
From here reach Ratanwadi byboat through back waters of Bhandardara Dam(11.30am),
Visit to Amruteshwar Temple and lunch break,
At 1.0pm we will start walking towards Samrad.
From there we will go to Sandan Valley (2.30pm)
2.30pm to 6.30pm Exploration of Sandan valley and places nearby.
7.30pm return to Samrad.
Refreshment, campfire, dinner, star watching etc.

Day Two
Day stars early morning at 5 am.
After tea and breakfast we will start our trek to Ratangad. (6.30am),
We reach Ratangad via Trimbak Darwaja (11am),
Visit to Nedha, Konkan Darwaja, Water tanks, Gol Buruj and reach the Bastion at Katrabai cliffs. (12pm),
Here we take lunch break.
Start descending via Ganesh Darwaja (1pm),
We reach Cross road where routes from Kalsubai, Ratangad and Harischandragad meet. (3pm)
We start our journey towards Kumshet Via Katrabai Pass and reach Kumshet.(7pm).
Refreshment, dinner and stay at Kumshet.

Day Three,
Get up early morning,
Start journey towards Harishchandragad, (7am),
Will reach the base of Kaladgad (9.30am),
Kaladgad visit (11.30am), and from there reach Pachnai (1.30pm),
Lunch break, and rest for some time,
3pm start ascending Harishchandragad and reach atop. (5pm),
Visit to Konkan Kada for sunset.
Dinner, camp fire etc and stay on Harishchandragad.

Day four,
Visit to Taramati for sunrise followed by refreshment,
Exploration of the fort and start descend,
Lunch at Khireshwar.(3pm),
Return journey towards Mumbai,
We will be back to Mumbai by 9.30pm (subjected)

The cost for the trek will be 1000/- per head which includes

• Travelling from kasara and back,
• Food facilities.

Things to carry are :

>A haversack to put in all the things to be carried….so that one has ones hands free while trekking. Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
>Lunch for 22nd Jan
>Water bottle (Min 2 Ltrs).

>Additional pair of clothes(specially socks), towel, napkin
>Plate, spoon, glass (compulsory)
>Bedding and warm clothes
>Torch (compulsory) with extra batteries

>Matchbox, candles, Old Newspapers(compulsory)
>Personal medicines & 2 plastic bags for weight distribution.
>Electral / Enerzyl powder & some snacks & biscuits (optional)
>2 Packets of Maggie each(compulsory)
>camera(optional)
>cap, etc
>Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
>A good trekking shoes, extra pair of socks

>Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
