Shalom Adventures Rajmachi Trek 10-11 july 2010

Hi Friends,

Trek to Rajmachi which is 2710 ft. above sea level.

History: Rajmachi (Udhewadi) is a small village in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri in India. There are two forts which were built by Shivaji Emperor during 17th century. It is a famous spot for trekking. It is about 15 km treking distance from Lonavla. Rajmachi fort is a strategic fort overlooking Borghat(ghat between Mumbai and Pune) which was a historical trade route. Rajmachi peak has two fortified structures – the Shrivardhan fort and Manaranjan fort. Rajmachi can be reached by 2 ways, the tough route from Kondivade village near Karjat and the other easy but long way route from Lonavala. In rainy season this place is filled with giant waterfalls and greenery.

Two citadels i) Shrivardhan and ii) Manoranjan, Ancient Lord Shiva temple (in Rajmachi village), Ancient temple in the gorge between Manoranjan and Shrivardhan, Caves, Lake , Kondane caves.


Here is the schedule
10th July 2010
11:00 pm Kalyan Station.
11:30 pm Train to Lonavala

11th July 2010
2:00 am Reach Lonavala.
4:30 am Trek start.
8:30 pm we reach the top.
Breakfast
Visit two citadels 1) Shrivardhan and 2) Manoranjan.
12:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm Start descending from Rahmachi.
4:30 pm Visit Kondana Caves.
6:30 Pm Karjat.
9:00 pm Kalyan (Approx)

Above is tentative schedule. It might change depending on the situation. Decision will be taken by organizer.


Must Carry:
1. Raincoats/Cheaters.
2. Rainy sandals/shoes.
3. Extra pair of clothes.
4. A good flashlight/torch.
5. Rucksack.
6. Personal Medicine, if any.
7. 1-2 liter water bottle.
8. Camera (optional).
9. A pack of candle & matchbox
10. Mosquito / insect repellent
11. Sleeping Bag

1. Umbrellas
2. Slippers
3. High Heals
4. Alcohol, Drugs


Cost: Rs.350 /-
Your confirmation is considered only after receiving the registration amount Rs. 100/-


Included in fees:
It will cover your traveling from Kalyan to Kalyan, breakfast & Tea
Anything apart from this will be considered out of package.


What is not included in fees?
Mineral Water, Cold drinks, Snacks like chips, etc.
Registration is on first come first serve basis.

Please note:
That unlike conventional picnic, it is an adventure event wherein we are going to take public transport, eat available local food. It’s absolutely safe and easy trek if any unnecessary risk and bravado is avoided.
