DurgMitra has organized an overnight trek to Rajmachi on 25th-26th December 2010, (starting on 25th Night.)

Rajmachi is a fort in Karjat region. There are two forts which were built by Shivaji Emperor during 17th century. It is a famous spot for trekking. It is a 17 km trekking distance from Lonavla. Rajmachi fort is a strategic fort overlooking Borghat(ghat between Mumbai and Pune) which was a historical trade route. Rajmachi peak has two fortified structures – the Shrivardhan fort and Manaranjan fort. Rajmachi can be reached by 2 ways, the tough route from Kondivide village near Karjat(we will be descending by this route), and the other easy but long way route from Lonavala (we will be approaching by this route). In rainy season this place is filled with giant waterfalls and greenery.
The itinerary for the Trek is as given below:
Saturday, 25th :
Meeting point: Lonavala stn at 5 pm, below the indicator.
Meet at Lonavala and then Start our trek by 5.30pm.
Reach the top in 6 hrs.(17 km walk. Has many water streams and waterfalls on the way.)
Dinner and day off.
Sunday 26th December:
Wake up early morning.
Visit to Shreevardhan fort. and Manranjan Fort
Back to Udhewadi village,
Decend towards Karjat.
Reach Karjat stn by 6 pm.
And back to Mumbai/Pune. (Pune ppl by express/mail; Mumbai ppl by Local)
The cost for the trek is Rs 450/- per head which includes
BreakFast Lunch and Evening snacks on 26th,
Stay at Udhewadi,
Transportation from Base village to Karjat.
(Note People will have to bear the train faire by them selves.
Train fare till Lonaval and back from Karjat till Mumbai/Pune is not included in the trek charges.)
Things To Be carried:
Identity proof (must)
Dinner for Saturday,
A bottle of water (atleast 2 Ltrs),
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
2-3 bunch of papers
Good Waterproof Bedding, (Carry mat, sleeping bag or two bed sheets and one Plastic sheet like banner or rubber table mats will be sufficient) (must)
A plate, mug, and spoon (compulsory),
Towel, a napkin, Extra Pair of clothes
TORCH with extra batteries (compulsory).
Medicines those if u require usually (Optional)
A good trekking shoes, extra pair of socks
A haversack to put in all the things to be carried….so that one has ones hands free while trekking.
Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
