Outdoor Adventure Management Trek to Matheran via Garbut 26th June 2011

Dear trekkers and routine breakers,

It’s raining in the mountains and its trekking time once again… Gear up for another Beautiful trek, another must see place with mind-blowing scenery, loads of water and scenic beauty of nature in monsoons…

We are glad to announce that “OUTDOOR ADVENTURES MANAGEMENT” is organizing a “Trek to Matheran via Garbut Point” on Sunday 26th June 2011 in the Karjat region.Dear Friends,
It’s a one day trek but just to enjoy more and to be able to spend good time on top and rest we’ll start traveling on night of
25th June so that we can start trekking early in the morning.

We are travelling by a Karjat local train, for which we need to assemble at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (C.S.T.) at 22.00 hours i.e 10.00 pm sharp on Saturday, 25th June near to platform one of harbour line. We shall be boarding the 23:28 pm Karjat local leaving from C.S.T and alight at Bhivpuri Road station.

We’ll start trekking at 6:00 am of 26th June & leave the Garbet Plateau at 2:00pm to enter Matheran . We would then walk into Matheran and reach Neral station by around 5:00 pm and take a train back towards C.S.T.

Friends, you all are requested to carry packed lunch for the trek. On the top, you will see foggy mountains with raindrops splashing your face every now and then, beautiful greenery, water and a splendid plateau to relax and roam around…. So please carry decent amount of eatables, and personal medicines as required.
**In case you guys are carrying Digi-cam or Cell phone carry enough stock of small poly thin bags, to protect it from moisture.

Plateau Height : 800 meters/2,625 ft.
Difficulty Level—Easy
Time taken to ascend—- 2.5 – 3 Hrs
Expenses—-
Rs 350 per head which includes morning breakfast & tea , travelling expenses (CST – Karjat & back).


THINGS TO CARRY-

1. Packed Lunch & 2 ltr water (compulsory)
2. Food & Water (Mandatory).
3. Cap / Gog,
*Extra pair of clothes. (optional)
4. Good footwear.(Mandatory)
5. Slippers or floaters (just to relax your feet befor & after the
trek) (optional)
6. Personal small medical kit. (if u
require usually/Optional)

7. Electral/Tang powder.
8. Wind Cheater.
9. Other things as per your choice.

10.Haversack to put all these things into.

Pack your bags considering the rains.
Do carry small plastic bags to carry wet clothes home. But no plastic littering on the way or in mountains.
P.S.: Please do not wear floaters or slippers during hiking & STRICTLY wear good shoes or footwear, for your own safety. Carry atleast two pairs of socks to avoid blisters due to the wet ones.
