MASK Group: Trek to Sudhagad via Pali (Ballaleshwar Mandir), 4th September, 2011

Sudhagad is a huge fort (50 acers plateau atop) and was almost the capital of Shivaji’s empire, only losing out to Raigad due to the central location of the latter. The Mahadarwaja from Dhondse route and Pant Sachiv Wada are chief places for sight-seeing. Echo-point and Takmak Tok are also worth the while.

Also on the cards is a stop at Pali Ballaleshwar (Ganesh) Temple (one of the Ashtavinayak Temples) enroute (a must during the Ganpati weekend).

Trek Grade: Easy+

Expenses: Rs. 350/-

Last date for Payment: Thursday, 1st September, 2011.
