About the Tour:-
Thoseghar Waterfall near Satara is famous for its serenity, quiet nature and mainly the Waterfalls . July to November is the best season to visit Thoseghar. Dark woods and a clean lake add to the beauty of this hilly region. There are also other small waterfalls here, which are about 15-20 meters high. The highest one is of around 500 meters.
KALYANGAD (NANDGIRI FORT)
Type: Hill fort Height: 3500 feet above sea level- approx
Grade: Easy Base Village: Dhumalwadi (Nandgiri)
One of the easiest trek in this region.This fort has been built by Raja Bhoj of Shilahar dynasty. It was built during the period 1178 – 1209.The fort is also known as “Nandgiri Fort”. The copper inscription also give the proof of this that fort was built by Shalihar dynasty. Points of Attraction: The first gate of this fort is at the North side. After entering, there is one temple. This fort has gallery and this is the main attraction of fort. The depth of this gallery is about 30m. Iron rods are on the both side of the route of the gallery. Also there is water on both side of the route. Which has statues of Parshwanath , Padmavati Devi and Dattatraya On the east side of the fort there is one temple of Lord Hanuman. Also there is one Bamanghar. There is memorial of Kalyan Swami which at the front of this Bamanghar. This Kalyan Swami is the follower of the Ramdas Swami. Here is another temple of Lord Ganesha. From the top of the fort one can able to see other forts such as Jaranda, Ajikyantara, Chandan, Vandan, Vairatgad
KAAS PLATEAU: A wonderful outing to explore the colorful world of flowers … valley of flowers in Maharashtra where varieties of wild flowers of all colours which blooms in Mid August – Sept end . In monsoon the whole area transforms into an unbelievable carpets of flowers like yellow carpets of Smithia and Sonki flowers, Pink carpets of Balsam, Purple carpets of Karvi etc. … These carpets change colors almost every week depending on the dominant flowers during that time
SAJJANGAD : Well known fort is situated in Satara destrict.Height of Sajjangad is 3350 feet. This fort has been built in the 11th century by Raja Bhoj of Shilahar dynasty.The original name of this fort is “Ashwalayan”. Local people also recognize this fort as Fort of Parali.Parali is the base village of Sajjangad. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has conquered this fort in the year 1673 from Adilshah.On the request from Shivaji Maharaj, Samartha Ramdas swami came to this fort to stay. Samarth Ramdas lived for long time at Sajjangad. He breathed his last here and devotees worship his mausoleum here. This is an important centre of worship for the Ramdasi sect. Ramdas swami remains an inspiration for the technique he developed in infusing Nationalism and Dharmic devotion among ordinary people across the country by his concept of Hanuman temple, akhaada and a Paathashaala in every village. His emphasis on Rashtra chintana along with spiritual sadhana is more relevant today than it was anytime before.

We will visit to Thoseghar Waterfall, Kalyangad, Sajjangad (EXPLORATION AND
LUNCH WILL BE AT THE TIME OF TREK) and Stay arrangement and dinner at Sajjangad
Day 2 . 09.10.2011 (Sunday)
06.00 am Move from Sajjangad towards Kas Platau & Pateshwar
* Back to Mumbai on 09th Oct Evening 10:00 pm. approx
