Dear friends,

Wild explorers (WE) formerly known as WRRACC (Wildlife Research Rescue & Conservation Club) is a nature club, registered under WWF (World Wide Fund) which work for conservation of wildlife and nature. The main emphasis is given to the rescue & rehabilitation of the wild animals. Now WRRACC is serving since almost 5 years after an establishment in the year 2005. Today the club has more than 10 confirm committee members & several members through online club subscription. Although the main activity is wild life rescue & rehabilitation especially snakes, the club also conducts various activities related to wildlife and nature conservation & adventure.

‘WE’ is organizing 3 day 2 Night Nature Camp (Focused on Migratory Birds) to Jambhiwali Dam. From 27th dec, 2011 to 29th dec, 2011.
The Activity will start from Panvel ST Stand.

Jambhivali Dam is one of the important water reservior around the area mainly of Rasayani & surrounded by cluster of villages namely Ambivali (near HOC guest hause), Dapivali, Mohopada, Chambarli, Vaveghar, Rees, Karade, Gulsunde, Turade, Savle. It is located on SH-83, about five kilometeres off NH4.

The ancient river of Patalganga and small streams flow through the area.The area is surrounded by Prabal (HOCL Management Trainee Hostel), Irshala, Karnala (A small Housing For new/fresh Officers of HOCL) and other hills-mountains of Sahyadri ranges. Although it is surrounded by many industrial zones, it is rich in forest cover & other biodiversity. In winter it is visited by many migratory birds especially ducks. Very nice place to enjoy the beautiful nature all around.

Following activities are planned to be held during the camping time.

Ice breaking games,
Basic camp fire.
Trek till Manik Gadh Machi
Snake information activity.
Fishing.
Dinner Making Activity.
Nature trail & info on bird watching
jungle survival tech.
Self defence & rifle shooting
Swimming

The details are as follows:

Type : Easy
Cost: 800/- per head
Meeting point: Panvel Bus Stand 12.00 PM (1200 Hrs) [27th dec, 2011]
Cost includes:
Travelling to & fro by bus (ST) Panvel – Panvel.
Food during the outing.
Morning/ Evening tea with Snacks.
Simple vegetarian Meal.

Things to be carry:
Shoes, cap, glassware, personal medicine, rainy wear, SLEEPING MATERIAL, TORCH, Mosquito repellent.
Don’t carry handbags, sacs are recommended.
*Please inform the coordinators prior about specific health problems or any allergic reactions.

Please don’t leave any plastic or papers behind which can harm the nature.
Don’t carry any valuables during the trek.
Follow the instructions given by the coordinators during the trek.
Authority will not be responsible for loss of any valuables viz. Camera, mobile. Walk man, ornaments etc.
Participants should report on time.
