22 April 2012: Earth Day Celebration

It’s time to say thanks to our mother Earth. Therefore, on the occasion of World Earth Day on 22 April, the CEC is organizing a “Clean up drive” at the BNHS Nature Reserve. Join us if you are ready to soil your hands and clean up a tiny patch of Mother Earth. This will be our tribute to her and help us to make our forest cleaner and greener!

13th May 2012: Mothers Day Celebration @ CEC

CEC is happy to announce Mother’s Day celebration for all those who care for Mother Earth as well as their own mothers. Come and join us with your mothers for a fun-filled memorable event. We have exciting activities and prizes for mothers. Along with your mother join us on a nature trek to the highest point of BNHS Nature Reserve, learn about Mothers in Wild through our AV show, together win the treasure hunt and quiz. We will capture your memorable time in a picture and give you the same as a parting gift. So make this Mother’s Day truly special for your mother and share an experience of a lifetime! 29th April 2012: Butterfly watch @ Ovalekarwadi

Ovalekar Wadi is a serene butterfly park (2 acres) located off the Ghodbunder road in Thane bustling with butterflies. The park is a result of the efforts put in by Mr. Rajendra Ovalekar, the owner of the place. He has planted a variety of food and nectar plants in this patch of land, thereby creating a natural environment for butterflies. It is home to about 70-90 different species of butterflies such as Tigers, Nawabs, Commander to name a few. So join us and enter the secret world of these beautiful flying jewels

27th May 2012: Nature Trail @ Yeoor

Spend the morning exploring the woods at Yewoor, part of Sanjay Gandhi National Park and appreciate the wonderful trees along the beautiful trail. Watch the various hues of the forest and learn about fascinating aspects of the forest. This is also the best time to watch the birds and butterflies around Mumbai and Thane. So come join us

Nature Discovery Camp for Children @ CEC: (24-26 April 2012)

Residential, adventurous, fun-filled yet educational camp for young wildlife fans. Let your child experience the joys and wonders of the forest and learn all about wildlife and survival tactics through enticing nature walks, camp fire, cooking in wild, night trail, star gazing, fun-filled games, learn paper making, reuse plastic bottles through bottle gardening, team building sessions. Best camper will get medals and prizes. Also BNHS camper certificate and camp photo for everyone. If your child is between 10-14 years old, passionate about wildlife, pesters you with innumerable questions, sign him/her up to our camp. Let kids embrace the nature in their way.

Venue: BNHS Conservation Education Centre, Mumbai. Time: 9.00 a.m. (First day) to 04.00 p.m. (Last day). Dates: 24-26 April 2012. Age limit: 10-14 yrs.
