A visit to some of the coastal forts of Ratnagiri District viz. Suvarnadurg, Poornagad, Yeshwantgad etc.
Trek Dates: From 2nd May (night) to 5th May (night).
Venue: Coastal forts in Ratnagiri District.
Difficult level: Very easy (most of the forts are at sea-level)
Trek leader: Ms. Mrudula Tambe.
Last date or registration: 15th April, 2013.
The trek will start on 2nd May, 2013 at night 8.00 pm on Thursday. Participants will catch the bus from Elphinstone Flyover. The bus route will be via Pune, Satara so that those attendees who live in Pune, Manmad, Nashik, Sambhajinagar could catch the bus at Pune.
We’ll try to visit Bhagawati, Poornagad, Yeshwantgad, Ambolgad, Suvarnadurga in those three days, while some forts like Mandangad, Jaygad are optional and subject to the availability of the time.
The return journey will be on 5th May, Sunday noon either via Panvel or via Pune depending on the program schedule.
The participant must bring a bright torch, a HAT or a CAP, a lunch box, 2 water bottles, Tea Mug, a dish and a bowl, sleeping mat, emergency dry food item, pairs of clothes, Toothbrush, Tooth paste, Soap, Towel and necessary medicines. Also, bag containing this should be handy, preferably haversack. Also, wear good pair of shoes/floaters and keep spare pair of slippers.
As every trek/trek of Shivshourya Trekkers is auspicious, no alcohol consuming or smoking will be permitted in this trek.
Also, plucking or picking of mango, cashew, jackfruit or any local production is strictly prohibited. The participant must not misbehave with locals in any manner. Kindly, be an eco-friend by avoiding throwing plastic garbage in this trek.
