One day trip to World Heritage Site – Kaas Plateau of flowers, Majestic Thoseghar waterfall and historic Sajjangarh Fort.

Just as the monsoons wind up there show, millions of tiny tots – yellow and white and purple and violet and pink and orange in color – pop up on the vast expanse of Kaas Plateau. This blooming flowers make it for a sight to behold.

Plateau of Kaas (Kaas Pathar) is a divine gift of nature. It is nature at its best. The wonder is located in Satara district of Maharashtra. Rich in Flora and Fauna, it is also known as Plateau of flowers. More than 850 species of flowering plants
are found here. 39 species found here are unique to Kaas region.

Recently, Kaas has been declared a World Heritage Site. The Plateau seems to change its colours after every 15- 20 days as the cycle of flowering plants progresses with the monsoon from June to October. September-October is the best time to visit this place.

Sajjangarh is a nearby fort of historical importance and one of the biggest waterfalls is also close by at Thoseghar. Windmills at Chalkewadi are also a fascinating sight from the driveway.

Time – 06:00 AM Sharp

Pick up points – 06:00 AM at FC Road, Pune.
06:20 AM at City Pride, Satara Road, Pune.

Tentative Itinerary –
06:00AM – Start from Pune. (Breakfast on board)
09:30AM – Reach Kaas Plateau.
11:30PM – After having spent good 2 hours strolling across the vast expanse of Kaas Plateau thru mesmerizing flower beds, we go for lunch at Nivant Hill Resort.
01:30PM – Start for Sajjangarh fort.
03:30PM – Start for Thoseghar waterfall.
06:00PM – Start return journey.
09:00PM – Reach City Pride, Satara road, Pune.
09:30PM – Reach FC Road, Pune.

Cost – Rs.1000/- per person.
Includes –
Pune to Pune travel by private non-ac mini bus.
All road taxes, tolls, Kaas Plateau entry fees/Thoseghar entry fees (Camera fees not included)
Veg. Breakfast on highway and buffet lunch at luxurious Nivant Hill Resort overlooking the valley.
And truck loads of fun.

Excludes –
Any expenses of personal nature. Cost of mineral water / soft drinks / extra food / snacks. Cost of evening snacks/dinner. Cost of pick up and drop (if required) will be extra as applicable.

Suggested list of things to carry –

1. Powerful camera with more than enough battery and memory.
2. Cap, sunglasses, umbrella, raincoat.
3. Water bottle (this is a must. at least 2 liters per person)
4. Ready to eat packed food. In case you get hungry-in-between.
5. Garbage bag. (This is also a must. Kaas Plateau is a World Heritage Site. We believe in ‘leave no trace’ traveling. STRICTLY NO LITTERING on the trip)
6. Diary and pen(If you want to make notes)
7. Anything else you think you will need on the trip.
8. Chocolates and dry fruits are welcome.
