The main attraction here is the arrival of the vibrant, pink Greater Flamingos. Trek to Fort RaigadRaigad is a hill fort situated in the Mahad, Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. The Maratha king Shivaji made the fort his capital in 1674 when he was crowned King of a Maratha Kingdom which later developed into the Maratha Empire eventually covering majority of modern day India. The fort, which rises 820 meters (2,700 ft) above sea level, is located in the Sahyadri mountain range. One day trek to Andharban on 12 December 2015, Saturday (leaving Friday night) Summary: Type:Valley/Jungle decend trail. Range:Mulshi, Pune  Base Village: Tamhini Grade:Medium Minium:6 Participants Maximum: 15 Participants Trek Leader: Mahadev Trek Distance: 13KM About: Andharban, by its name means a dark dense forest. It is a descend trek, where you are already on height and you will descend till end. It is one of the most beautiful trek and lots of things to explore. We will be walking on ridge offering awesome view of the Kundalika Valley, Bhira dam and the mountain ranges of Tamhini ghat. Evergreen forest covers you with shade in first half of the trek (6-8 kms).The trek further descends down in Konkan to reach Bhira (4 kms).The same valley where is the origin of the Kundalika river famous for its white water river rafting.
