Rajmachi (Udhewadi) is a small village in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri. Rajmachi peak has two fortified structures – the Shrivardhan fort and Manoranjan fort. Rajmachi fort is a strategic fort overlooking Borghat(ghat between Mumbai and Pune) which was a historical trade route. We will start the trek from Lonavala and descend towards karjat.   Fireflies : Fireflies or lightning bugs make light within their bodies. This process is called bioluminescence and is shared by many other organisms, mostly sea-living or marine organisms. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. To do this, the fireflies contain specialized cells in their abdomen that make light.   Height: 3000/2700 feet above MSL Grade: Easy District: Pune Region: Lonavala Base Village: Lonavala/Kondhane   The itinerary for the event will be as follows: We will be leaving by Karjat Fast Local . Day 01  11th June 2016 – Saturday.   Time Table – 02:54 pm :CST 03:01 pm: Byculla 03:07 pm: Dadar 03:14 pm Kurla 03:18pm: Ghatkopar 03:34pm: Thane 03:46 pm: Dombivali 03:53 pm : Kalyan 04:43 pm : Karjat It is advised to board the second compartment of the train from your respective stations so that we can meet in the compartment itself. Please reach atleast 10 mins early at the desired location so that you don’t miss the train..   05:00 pm: @ Karjat railway stationand Move Kondhane Village by local Transport 06:00 pm: Ascend to Rajmachi 10:30 pm: Udhewadi – base village and Dinner Post Dinner – Night Walk for Fireflies Stay in village.
