A unique online project set up by Artist Johnnie Lawson has captured the imagination of more than 30 million viewers worldwide. He describes his project as sending moments of peace and calm out into this fast paced world.
He offers free to view experiential videos filmed in the tranquil landscape within which we here in this beautiful area have the privilege of living within.

He seeks out locations within the landscape of this area that are picturesque, relaxing and soothing to the mind, the kind of place where people like to go and be by themselves in nature, Recording them in both sound and vision, capturing as true a sense of each location as is possible.
Johnnie produces these videos in various qualities and lengths to facilitate a variety of uses and devices upon which they can be viewed. He lives and works here in the northwest of Ireland.

Remember sleep is absolutely essential, it is not a luxury, as too many people in this highly driven society are led to believe. We are generally not rewarded by modern western society for taking time for ourselves to recuperate and relax. Take the time! You are the most important person to you, look after your health requirements including sleep. Our minds and bodies absolutely need a proper sleep.

The ideal duration of sleep varies from person to person, the recommended being between 6 and 9 hours. Becoming aware of your own requirement is very important. With practice you will become your own best judge of how much sleep you need. Listen out for signs in your own mind and body. How do you feel when you wake in the morning, do you feel refreshed? Do you find you need a nap during the day? Do you you find yourself losing concentration during the day? Do you have lack of motivation? These can all be signs of lack of proper sleep.

There are many natural ways of improving your quality of sleep. Exercise is very important as it improves your bodies ability to transport oxygen around your body. Exercise also improves your ability to remove toxins from your body which can adversely effect your ability to have a good nights sleep.

The environment you sleep in has a dramatic effect on your quality of sleep, make sure there is a continuos supply of fresh air, also making sure your sleeping space is not too warm. Try as much as possible not to have any noise related disturbances. Try to shut out interrupting noises. Many thousands of people across the world are finding these long-play videos with natural soundscapes helpful, in fact many people have commented on how these videos have cured their insomnia. Simply chose which video soothes you the most, set it playing and permit your mind to drift off into the scene depicted in the video. Relax your breathing, concentrate on the sounds of the video, if interrupting thoughts from your day intrude just observe them and allow them to pass on out of your mind, don’t entertain them and don’t dwell on them. As you sleep you can still hear sounds, so if you do happen to wake you will be greeted with the soothing sounds of nature.

A good healthy diet will help with getting a good nights sleep, don’t eat late at night as your body ends up having to do two jobs between digesting your food and trying to recoup and repair your mind and body for the next day. It ends up not being able to do either job well. Some foodstuffs can adversely affect different people, Alcohol being one of the most common, cheese can be another, chocolate in theory should help you to sleep because of the serotonin it produces and yet many people find chocolate inhibits sleep.

Enjoy your sleep.
Johnnie
