The Western Ghats is full of surprises. Among the many endemic and rare species, once in eight years, it plays host to an unforgettable phenomenon – the mass blooming of the Karvi flowers. The hills and mountains lined with Karvi trees (Strobilanthes callosa) are in full display and turn the complete landscape violet or purple.
Join The Western Routes to experience this rare phenomenon on our ‘Karvi Festival’ at the beautiful Yelavali Camping Site inside Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Leisure treks, jungle walks, unbeatable views from Konkan Kada, Karvi bloom along with other beauitful flowers, camping in tents, camp-fire sessions, and of course a chance to spot the fascinating Shekru (Giant Squirrel) awaits you on the Karvi Festival. Also remember, the next time you’d get to see a Karvi bloom will be in 2024!
Note: This is a pet-friendly trip!
