Nag Tibba ( 9915 feet)

 

The Nag Tibba trek is a short and easy weekend trek to Nag Tibba (Serpent’s Peak) near
Mussorrie. At over 3000 meters it is the highest peak in the Nag Tibba range of Garhwal
Himalayas. Nag Tibba is amongst three principal ranges of the Lesser Himalaya . Nag Tibba
Trek is an ideal weekend trek which can easily covered over any extened weekend. From
Nag Tibba one have uninterrupted views of himalayan peaks like   Bandarpoonch,
Gangotri group of peaks and Kedarnath peak to name a few.
Overview of a Trek
Program Duration : 3 days
Difficulty : Easy
Start / Finish : Dehradun
Nearest Town : Mussorie

Day 01: Dehradun – Panthwari – Kathian ( 4-5 hrs drive / 6 kms trek )
Arrive at Dehdradun by 6.00 am. Depart for Panthwari via Mussoorie–Kempty falls–Nain-Bagh.
Expected arrival time at Pantwari 12 noon. Trek from Pantwari to Kathian .
Day 02: Kathian – Nag Tibba Top – Kathian ( 6 kms / 5 hrs)
Trek from Kathian to Nag Tibba Top. Explore the area (at the left side slope from the summit one can
get a terrific view of the Himalayan ranges namely Swargrohini range, Gangotri ranges,
Banderpoonch etc. ) and come back to Kathian.

Day 03: Kathian – Panthwari – Dehradun ( 6 kms trek / 4-5 hr drive)
Trek from Kathian to Pantwari and Drive back to Dehradun (4 Hours trek) and reach back Dehradun
by 6 PM.

Har Ki Dun Trek

The Har Ki Dun means Valley of Gods is a treat for first time trekkers and nature lovers. Har Ki
dun is a moderate trek which takes you to the one of the least explored places in the Garhwal
region of Uttarakhand and best suitable for first time trekkers in the Himalayas and also who
are experienced in other parts of the Himalayas. Har Ki Dun Trek lies in the Govind Wildlife
Sanctuary and National Park and other famous trek nearby is Kedarkantha Peak Winter trek.
Har Ki Dun trek gives you the magnificent views of the famous peaks of Swargarohini, Bandar
Poonch, Kala Nag or Black peak and Har Ki Dun peak itself. The drive from Dehradun to Sankri is
a scenic one via Mussoorie, Purola, Netwar, Motwat along the Tons River.

Overview of a Trek
Duration : 7 days

Day 01:   Dehradun to Sankri via Mussoorie (200 kms 8 Hrs)
The very first day we will meet at the Dehradun railway station at 6:00 in the morning for our
journey through curvaceous roads of The Shivalik Himalayas. Today’s journey from Dehradun to
Sankri is around 200 Kms long and takes around 9 hours. Enroute we will stop for breakfast and
also get fresh for the rest of the journey. Reach Sankri late in the evening and take full rest at
the camp for the Har Ki Dun Trek.
Day 02: Sankri -Taluka (drive 1 hrs) – Trek from Taluka to Osla Village (14 kms – 7 Hrs)
After having a sumptuous breakfast we drive to Taluka . Our trek leader will brief about today’s
trek schedule. Today will trek for around 14 kms from Taluka to Osla Village. There is a unique
temple of Duryodhan of Mahabharatha in Osla village situated at an altitude of 2650m. Along
the trek route you will cross bridges over Tons river, lush green valley covered with wild orchids
of Himalayas and if you are lucky then you may encounter the rich wild life of Himalayas like

barking deer, Bharal, Blue Sheep, Bear or Leopard too. Reach camp and immerse in the pristine
beauty of Garhwal Himalayas. Pitch your tents and try your hand in Night Long exposure
photography.
Day 03: Trek from Osla to Har Ki Dun (11 kms – 6 hrs)
After early breakfast we start our trek to Har Ki and once you reach there you would not want
to come back the beauty is such. The trek is rewarding through open meadows and views of
snow capped peaks. The trail ascends above the confluence of the Har ki Dun and Ruinsara
Rivers to a vintage point of the snow capped ridges of the Dhaula Dhar. After trekking for about
6 hours you will reach the camp relish on delicious lunch prepared by our team and enjoy the
views of pristine trek in the Himalayas.
Day 04: Har Ki Dun Trek – Exploration Day
Today is our exploration day those who want to enjoy the most exotic book reading session can
relax in the camp and rest can trek up to Jaundhar Glacier which is around 4 Kms and takes
around 3 Hrs to reach but the view of the glacier is to die for. After our healthy breakfast and
packed lunch we will start the today’s leg of Har Ki Dun trek the visit to Jaundhar Glacier. After
spending few hours we will return to Har Ki Dun camp.
Day 05: Trek from Har Ki Dun to Osla (11 kms – 4 hrs)
Today will the easy part of the Har Ki Dun trek but going downhill is always a tricky one. We will
be trekking by the same route so you have an idea about the landscape. After a tiring day relax
for some time have your sumptuous lunch and then explore the area.
Day 06: Trek from Osla to Taluka (14 kms ) – Sankri (drive 1 hrs)
Be ready to trek down the entire leg of Har Ki Dun Trek from Osla Village to Taluka in one go.
Then we will take a jeep ride to Sankri. Reach camp and relax …now onwards no more trekking.
Day 07: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun (200 kms 8 hrs)
Today will be the most complex day on one side you will be happy that no more trekking on the
other hand gloomy because the trek is going to end. We will start our drive early in the morning
so that we reach on time at Dehradun Railway station to catch your train or flights for onward

Kedarkantha Trek

Kedarkantha Trek is a classic  trek. The trek provides a great opportunity for trekkers to see
the scenic beauty and experience the life of remote villages of Garhwal Himalayas.
Kedarkantha Trek lies in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park in Uttarkashi
district of Uttarakhand. The drive to Sankri (From where the Kedarkantha trek starts) is one
of the most picturesque drives in the Himalayas through Mussoorie, Purola, Mori, Netwar,
Motwat along the Tons River Kedarkantha trek is one the easiest treks in the Himalayas to
enjoy thick snow cover. The Kedarkantha trek campsite is great for birding and surrounded
by beautiful snow peaks.

Difficulty : Easy
Start / Finish : Sankri
Nearest Town : Mussorie

Day 01: Dehradun – Sankri ( 200 kms / 8 hrs )
Arrival assistance followed by transfer to Sankri . Enroute breakfast and Lunch. Arrive Sankri
by late afternoon. We will stay here in Alpine Tents / hotel/ Guest House. An evening
orientation work around the village for acclimatisation.
Day 02 : Sankri – Juda Ka Talab (4 kms)
After having our breakfast and we start the trek around 8 AM for our next camp Juda Ka
Talab. We will camp beside the small pond surrounded by Pine and Oak trees. One can have
beautiful views of snow clad peaks from Juda Ka Talab . Overnight at camp.

Day 03: Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base (3 kms)
Get up early morning to see the golden glow of snow clad peaks. Post breakfast start the
trek to Kedarkantha Peak base which takes around 4 hrs to reach Kedarkantha Peak base.
Enjoy hot lunch and explore the area.

Day 04: Kedarkantha Base – Kedarkantha Peak – Kedarkantha Base (8 kms)
After having early breakfast, we start the day to summit the Kedarkantha peak, have your
lunch with amazing views of snow clad peaks of Yamunotri and Gangotri ranges. It’s a long
day trek up to summit. After spending some quality time at the peak we trek back to nearby
camping site at the Kedarkantha Base.
Day 05: Kedarkantha Base – Sankri (6 kms) – Dehradun ( 200 kms / 8 hrs)

Trek down from Kedarkantha Base to Sankri via Hargaon on well-marked trail by stones.
Trek down through thick forest of Pine and Maple trees and at some places you will have
open views of beautiful Har Ki Dunvalley.  Drive back to Dehradun to catch your train to
Delhi with kaleidoscopic memories of the Kedarkantha Trek. Our trek ends here

Winter Kuari Pass

The views on the Winter Kuari Pass trek are often cited as the best in the Indian Himalayas. It is not
hard to discover why. To the north of the Winter Kuari Pass trek is the Chaukhamba Range, while the
summits of Mana (7272m), Kamet (7756m) and Abl Gamin (7355m) extend to the Tibet border.In the
middle foreground, a number of spectacular peaks including Dunagiri (7066m) and Changabang
(6864m) enclose the Nanda Devi Sanctuary while to the west the snowcapped ranges extend to
Gangotri.

Day 01: Haridwar to Joshimath (260 kms drive)
Today’s journey from Haridwar to Joshimath is about 260 kms long and takes around 10
hours. Joshimath is a hub for pilgrim tourists traveling to Badrinath and Hemkund
Sahib. Check in to the guest house at Joshimath.
Day 02: Joshimath – Dhak Village – Gulling (12 kms Drive, 6 km Trek)
To start the Kuari Pass trek we first drive to Dhak village.At this village we will start our trekking
adventure to the Kuari Pass. We trek through a hemlock, oak and rhododendron forest for 3km
before a short descent to the meadow and the campsite at Chitra Kantha (3310m). The impressive
snow-capped ridge, including Chaukhamba 1 (7138m), can be seen beyond Joshimath. The
shepherds living between here and the Kuari Pass Trek are from Rishikesh or Haridwar and graze
flocks of sheep and goats throughout summer. There is a small spring line at the head of the
meadow for replenishing your water supply.

Day 03: Gulling to Tali top (4 kms trek)
We will start our day early with a few stretching exercises in the morning followed by
breakfast. After this our trek leader will brief us about today’s trek schedule. Today we will
trek for around 6 kms to Tali Top through green vegetation and red rhododendron flowers
which turn red during the blooming season in April & May. Climb up through the forested
ridge of Rhododendron, Spruce and Silver Birch above Chitra Kantha. It takes around an
hour to reach a prominent ridge top (3500m) and a further 30 minutes around to an open
meadow where it meets the well-defined track from a place called Tapovan.We will camp at
the alpine meadow at the end of Tali top.
Day 04: Tali top to Kuari Pass via Khullara and back (11 kms trek)
We will start early as this is the longest day on the Kuari Pass Trek. First leg of today’s trek is
a gradual ascend till Khullara top and from there traversing through the snow patch we
reach Kuari Top. At Kuari Pass top winds will gush past you. Savor the unending vistas of
great Himalayan peaks, including the famous Nanda Devi. Nanda Devi (7816m) is the highest
peak completely within India. It is surrounded by a huge circle of mountain walls with only
one outlet, where the Rishi Ganga forges a route through deep, almost impenetrable gorges
before flowing into the Alaknanda River. Given these natural defences, it was not until 1934
that the first mountaineers were finally able to reach the base of Nanda Devi. Return to Tali
Top through the same route and enjoy the camp bonfire and sumptuous dinner at Tali
campsite.
Day 05: Tali to Joshimath via Dhak(10 kms trek / 12 kms drive)
After having breakfast we trek downhill beside the Rishi Ganga River till the road where the
taxi will take us to Joshimath. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Joshimath to Haridwar
Today we start driving early to reach Haridwar with a beautiful mosaic of memories  to keep
us company. If we reach Haridwar on time, then you can take part in Ganga Aarti at Har ki
Pauri. Our trek ends here #HappyTrekking.
