Lohagad Fort, Lonavala (Pune District)

Lohagad Fort is situated in Lonavala (Pune district) and is approximately 52 km from Pune.

The Lohagad Fort mostly in ruins has good historic importance in the Maratha empire and is known for its strong fortification which is visible.
While going towards the fort you will come across various waterfalls and Bhaja Caves or Bhaje Leni which has its entrance starting from the base of the fort.
Bhaja caves are also known for their history in Buddhism.

The fort is connected to the neighboring Visapur fort by a small range. The fort was under the Maratha empire for the majority of time, with a short period of 5 years under the Mughal empire.Everyone should atleast visit lohagad once in a lifetime.Mesmerizing beauty of nature!!
