Shaniwar Wada Fort Most Haunted Place of Pune

Shaniwarwada is an 18th-century fortification in the city of Pune in Maharashtra, India. Built in 1732 it was the seat of the Peshwa rulers of the Maratha Empire until 1818, when the Peshwas lost control to the East India Company after the Third Anglo-Maratha War. Following the rise of the Maratha Empire, the palace became the center of Indian politics in the 18th century.

The fort itself was largely destroyed in 1828 by an unexplained fire, but the surviving structures are now maintained as a tourist site.

Shaniwar Wada Pune (शनिवार वाडा पुणे) Haunted Palace – Fort history (short movie – documentary)

More Info: http://www.bigkhulasa.com/
The Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune : One of the most haunted place of India
Behind the Fort’s paranormal activities there are story of the assassination, greed for power and Shaniwarwada-Fort-Punebetrayal. Madhavrao , Vishwasrao and Narayanrao was three sons of Peshwa Nanashaheb. After the death of Pesha Nanashaheb Narayanrao became Peshwa on that very young age. Due to his age his uncle Raghunathrao was in charge of state on behalf of young nephew.
Sumner Singh sent a group of assassins. Narayanrao woke up and understood he was going to be killed. He ran towards Raghunathrao’ chamber and shouted to him *Uncle save me*. But he was caught by assassins and brutally assassinated by them. The Ghost of the young Peshwa still now resides in there with his painful agony. Every new moon night he cries for saving him.

India's Hauntings | Shaniwar Wada Fort Most Haunted Place of Pune

Shaniwarwada- a beautiful but deserted fort, has been the shooting location for many historic movies. Last year’s blockbuster “Bajirao Mastani” is one historic drama that was shot there. The Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra starrer also brought the lives of the rulers of the mighty fort on the silver screen.

Throughout the nation, there are many spooky forts and palaces where many secrets died with the kings and their empires… Such is the case of Shaniwar Wada too.

The fort was built in 1730 in the honour of Peshwa Bajirao Ballal. But who would have thought back then this mighty fort would be reduced to haunted ruins.

Some say it was all the consequences of a curse. Within one year of Shaniwar wada’s establishment, Bajirao met with a tragic death. And eversince then, whoever sat on the throne couldn’t keep it for long…This was a curse cast upon the fort by Bajirao’s first wife, Kashiabi’s childhood friend after Bajirao killed her husband suspecting treasonThe curse was that Shaniwar wada would never be a happy place and sadly, the curse worked.

Some people also believe that a spirit haunts the fort, the spirit of Bajirao’s grandson Narayanrao who was brutally killed by his own uncle.Stories are many, but truth is only one…that there is something inside Shaniwar wada. Pune’s most haunted place does attract many tourists…Proceed at your own risk!
