Howdy Alums –
A New Leader – The big excitement around these parts is our new issue of The Leader. If one hasn’t showed up in your mailbox already, it soon will. Check it out for awesome international stories about first ascents in Ethiopia, practicing wilderness medicine skills in Ecuador, and an update on NOLS friends and family in Kenya. We also check in with NOLS grads doing great things in the US: reducing waste, promoting clotheslines, and writing guidebooks.
Leader Survey – While you’re thinking about The Leader, why not head over to Survey Monkey and take our Leader Reader survey. We want to know what you think of your alumni newspaper – what you like, what you think we should get rid of, what you want to see a lot more of. Help us help you. And as a bonus, get free shipping at the NOLS store to boot.
Trip Design Survey – Want another opportunity to let us know what you want from us? Take our Trip Design Survey, and tell us what you’d like to see in future alumni trips. These trips are all about you, our alumni, and the skills you’d like to practice in the locations you’d like to be. One course that has grown out of suggestions for us to do more courses in the Northeast and more kayaking is our upcoming Maine Sea Kayaking trip.
Maine Kayak Trip – Spend seven days kayaking through the islands of Maine. The September timing of this course means that you’ll be in the midst of spectacular fall New England colors, experiencing warm days and cool evenings. Bring a friend or family member and enjoy the beautiful scenery – granite islands, pine forests, seals, and spectacular sunsets. Check out the alumni website for more details.
Until Next Time,
