Its trekking time once again… another trek. another place with mind blowing scenery, Loads of water and a wonderful beauty of nature in monsoon… and mind you its not far off, its right in the middle of our beloved Mumbai-National park, Borivali.
I am glad to announce that “OUTDOOR ADVENTURES MANAGEMENT” is organizing a “Trek to SHILONDA” on 26th July, 2009 in the SANJAY GANDHI NATIONAL PARK.
More about the destination:
Height : 1030 ft.
Type : Hill Trail and beautiful waterfall.
Grade : Easy
Shilonda is known as the highest point of Mumbai.
Right now is perhaps the best time to take a walk in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) at Borivali, when the first few monsoon showers have washed the dust off the trees, the jungle shimmers with varied hues of green, and the streams and rivers are bubbling with crystal clear water.
An invigorating walk, for one. sightings of rare birds or everyday domestic scenes in the animal kingdom. the feel of the jungle, oneness with Nature.
The glorious sight of birds and insects feasting on the buffet of colorful flowers fruits and leaves while you draw deep on jungle air.
— make the most of this national park a dosage of fresh and revitalizing air, the only one of its kind that is surrounded by a concrete jungle, right in the heart of Mumbai.
You all are requested to carry packed lunch for the trek as there are no hotels available inside National park. What you will see and feel is a mind blowing scenery, beautiful spread of natures green velvet and raw sense of greenery, untouched and least hampered, there are water streams and a wonderful plateau to relax on…. so please carry decent amount of eatables, and personal medicines as required.
