CONDUCTED BY GOVT. & NON-GOVT. TOUR CONDUCTORS. Mumbai and Pune are
easily approachable by Rail or Road from Lonavala.
ROUTE DETAIL OF TREK
Reporting at Malavali Base camp (Lanavala) between 10.00
am to 1200 pm. Participants reporting at Mumbai will be taken to base
camp by private bus. Others can report directly at base camp.
Railway station Malavali is on Mumbai-Pune route next to Lonavala. In
the noon group will have Ekvira Mata Darshan and acclimatization trek
to Karle caves top. From here huge Shirota lake and Valavand lake can
be viewed. Ekvira is known as fisherman’s family goddess. Karle caves
are engraved at higher level in the mountain which enables us to
visualize the wide spread area of river Indrayani.. In the evening
group will enjoy Malavali campsite with green farms around and demo
on mountaineering equipments.
2 nd Day
Around 8.00 am Group will proceed towards Bhaje caves (2km).
the engraving of caves started at Bhaje @ 250 B.C. Hence these caves
are called,” Caves Of The Origin.” There are 20 caves which include 2
Chaityas, 16 Viharas, and 2 Mataps (kitchens). After visiting
beautiful Bhaje caves group will climb Fort
Lohagad, One of important fort having historical evidences and good
fortification. Have pack lunch at caves of Lomesh Rishi, Walk huge
wall of Vinchu Kata then climb down to Powna lake camp by 5.00 pm.
3 rd Day
Morning 7.30 am get ready to go for the brink with the greetings
of the cool breeze for tour of famous pinnacle of Khandala Dukes nose.
Participants will reach village Khuravandi at 8.30 a.m. initially a
gradual climb toward the edge of Pinnacle. After two hours of
adventures trek we will reach the highest point Pinnacle. In the noon
group will have walk around through Lanavala city and in the evening
we will visit Tiger valley point of Khandala then proceed to Kune
village camp site at 05.00 pm. This site is situated close to Khandala
4 th Day
Trek will start from Kune village at 7.00 a.m. This trek is about
9 km long and will take 5 hrs. to reach Rajmachi. It has semi circular
flat walk on the bank of Ulhas valley starting from Kune village.
Participants will report at base of Rajmachi fort at around 1.00 p.m.
In the evening group will enjoy lake site of Rajmachi.
5 th Day
In the morning there will be sightseeing program of twin forts
of Rajmachi. It is said that this fort do exist since Satvahanas and
constructed between 200 B.C. to 250 A.D. Afternoon will be free time
for group to share time with new friends. Evening treasure hunt is
organized around fort area.
6 th Day
On this final day group will start climbing down Ulhas valley at
07.30 am. Around 10.30 there will be halt at Kondana caves on the way.
Around 12.30 pm group will reach to final destination Kondivade
village in Konakan area. After lunch the program will conclude with
Certificate distribution. Around 4.00 p.m. participants will reach
Karjat Railway station. From here Mumbai and Pune are accessible
within two hours by train.

6th day KONDIVADE (Destination ) 11 KMS./ 985 ft. (300 mtr.) 4 HRS.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL WITNESS ON TRAILS:
Visit twin forts of Rajmachi, Fort Lohgad and fort Visapur situated in
Lonavala region, It is said that this fort do exist since Satvahana
rullers. These forts have witnessed rise of Great Maratha emperor
You will have a panoramic view of three major lakes in Lonavala region
i.e. Shirota lake, Valavand lake and Powana lake.
Explore the Karla caves & the templeof Ekvira Devi just 12 kilometers
from Lonavala. These caves are carved 900 years ago. These are Buddhas
caves full of vihars & Chaitas. The main Chaitya is 124 feet long, 45
feet wide & 48 feet high.
Similarly Bhaje caves can also be seen in the same trek. These are
situated at 3 kms from Malavali Railway Station near Mumbai Pune Exp
way. These are also Buddhas caves with three number of stoops. From
these caves we can see a fabulous look of Visapur & Lohagad forts. As
this trail is passing through dense forest we can explore many
medicinal plants, different kinds of flowers, trees & wildlife.
HOW TO REACH BASE CAMP:
Volunteers will receive the participants at Lonavala Railway station
on Reporting Dates between 09.30 am to 11.30 am as per the schedule of
trains coming to karjat from Mumbai and Pune.
Lonavala Railway Station on Central Railway is easily approachable by
passenger trains from Mumbai CST, Dadar, Kurla ,Kalyan, and Pune
which are main Junctions on Central Railway. Dadar Railway Station is
one of the most important station of Mumbai which is connected with
Western line & Central line of Railway and there are early morning
passenger trains plying towards Lonavala. From Pune there are Local
trains available at regular interval for Lonavala.
By Raod participants has to come by National Highway No. 4. This
National Highway No. 4 is connected with National Highway No. 3 of
Madhyapradesh, # 9 of Andhra Pradesh, # 4 of Karnataka, #17 of Goa &
#8 of Gujarat
. Govt. and private buses are regularly flying to Lonavala from Mumbai and Pune.

Rucksack, Cap, Cotton shirts, cotton pants, woolen jersey, monkey cap,
hunter shoes of proper fitting & used, pairs of Cotton Socks, one

ing – Carry mat, Bed sheet, medicated
banded-putty, torch with spare batteries, water bottles, lunch box to
carry lunch. Mug, spoon, plate, knife, needle-thread, spare buttons,
Sun-glasses, Vaseline, soap, toilet paper, towel, handy medicines
normally used by participants in their daily routine, Camera with
cells & film rolls (optional), chocolates/candy to chew to feel fresh,
water purifying tablets (optional), Binoculars (optional).
