Junglelore Trek to tung fort 11th July 2010

About the Fort :
Fort Tung was built with an intention to keep watch on transport from Borghat & to protect the region of Pavan Maval. Very strategically located, other Forts namely Lohagad, Visapur, Tikona & Pavan Maval can be easily located from this fort.

The Plan:
The drive through Amby-valley takes us to the base village of Tung known as Tungiwadi. We commence the trek from a Hanuman Temple. A walk of around 45 minutes takes us to an intact arch which is a doorway to the fort. The fort seems like a small pinnacle after we arrive at a plateau which has a temple & a water tank. It takes around 30 minutes from here to reach the top.
