VRangers Adventure trek to Alang-Madan Fort

Alang, Madan & Kulang are situated in Kalasubai range, is one of the most difficult forts in Nasik District. They are little neglected due to very heavy rains and confusing, difficult ways. To reach at top of the both the forts one need to do rock climbing. These forts are ultimate places for adventure lovers.

Alang (4852 ft):
The beautiful Alang Fort lies in the Nashik region.

Top of the fort is huge plateau. There are two caves on the fort for staying and 11 water cisterns arranged in a Cascade formation & a dilapidated storage room.

Mandan (4841 ft):
Madangad is considered to be one of the most difficult forts to climb among all the forts in the Sahyadris. The area of the fort is quite small as compared to Alang and Kulang, its adjoining forts. There are only two water tanks on top of the fort. The area visible from the top of the fort is quite scenic.
Kulang (4822 ft):
Kulang, Madan and Alang are adjoining peaks and the most prominent among them is kulang.Atanding at the edge of the ghats, it commands a fabulous and tough climb is amply rewarded by a most fascinating sunset.Kulang offers the highest climb from its base to the top in Sahyadris.The huge rocky terrain falling steeply to the Konkan presents grand sight.

4th Feb 2011(Night) :-
We will reach Kasara (Slow) by train.
Train Time:-
CST: 23.18 Byculla – 23.26 Dadar – 23.36
Kurla – 23.47 Ghatkopar – 23.53 Bhandup – 00.03
Mulund – 00.09 Thane – 00.14 Dombivli – 00.36
Kalyan – 00.45 Titwala – 1.00 Kasara 2.00.
5th feb 2011 :-
–From kasara by private vehicle will move to ambevadi base village.
–will reach by 5.30am to ambevadi
–From here with breakfast will start trek to Madan fort by 7.30am.
–After exploring madan will move to Alang & here will have dinner-night stay.
6th Feb 2011 : –
–In the morning with breakfast will explore Alang fort
–After Exploring will start descending towards ambevadi .
–In the afternoon will have lunch at the base.
–will reach to Mumbai by 10 pm.

1. A haversack to put in all the things to be carried. So that one has Hands free while trekking.
2. A bottle of water (3 Ltrs).
3.**Lunch for Saturday(Compulsory for Alang-Madan Team).

*** Lunch for Friday(Compulsory for Alang-Madan-Kulang Team).
4. Electoral / Energy powder, 2 Lemon, some snacks & biscuits (optional).
5.Photo Identity Card, Torch with extra batteries, Dish/Plate, Glass/Tea cup, Bowl, and Spoon, bedding (All things Compulsory).
6. Personal medicines & 2 plastic bags for weight distribution, mosquito’s repellent
7. A good trekking shoes, A Sweater/ Jacket.
8. Camera (Optional), Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry.
