Lyla Bavadam – a member of Satpuda Foundation has started a “Cloth Bank” in Duda education Van. Lyla work with the Hindu newspaper and also write in Frontline magazine. She could manage to send the cloths from Mumbai regularly for the tribals of Melghat Tiger Reserve.
Lyla started supplying old cloths regularly to Nature Conservation Society Amravati. Volunteers of NCSA added some efforts in packaging those cloths while distribution. Duda van distributed these cloths to the needy children and tribals from Melghat Tiger Reserve.
After Lyla initiated this, many volunteers and members of Satpuda Foundation and Nature Conservation Society Amravati have started collecting cloths and donating to Duda. “Duda” education van goes from village to village in Melghat to play and interact with tribal children and elders about the importance of Tigers and its protection. This “Cloth Bank” through Education van”Duda, could provide cloths to some 200 people in Melghat so far.
