Cycle to Make A Difference
M/S Blue Chip Events in aid of social organisation ‘Make A Difference’ (MAD) invites cyclists from all over the city to come and join the cycle rally to make a real difference towards children at risk.
This ride will be conducted on 16th December 2012 which is a Sunday starting at 6.30 am. Participation is strictly by registration only. Two groups of riders will be participating in the event. One will start their trip from Bandra West and the other will ride from Girgaum Chowpatti, Charni Road. The end of the journey will take place at Cafe Zoe in Lower Parel who will provide each participant with a complimentary breakfast. Freebies and a certificate will also be given out to each participant.
The proceeds from the registrations will go towards MAD’s education programmes. This event is organised to ensure that children are not deprived of the opportunity to study and grow up to be responsible citizens and be a part of a better future.

Here’s a brief about MAD. Supporting more than 5000 children at risk pan-India, MAD volunteers teach in over 60 orphanages, street shelters, community study centers across 23 cities and has won the Mahindra RISE funding, Asoka Youth Social Entrepreneur – 2008, InDiya Shine Award -2009, the Karmaveer Puraskar Award – 2009, World Summit youth award-2011,Starbucks Youth ActionNet award-2011. As part of the global initiative to promote youth engagement, on her visit to India, The First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama supported the cause of MAD.
• Their flagship English project focuses on enabling the children MAD teaches to communicate in English fluently after 5 years of undergoing MAD classes. For this, MAD has partnered with Cambridge University Press.
• The Placement project aims to expand the children’s horizons and create awareness about the various career options.
• Mumbai chapter: Currently, with the help of 170 volunteers, MAD is reaching out to 300+ kids.
• MAD is a 12A registered society with an 80G exemption status
