What is First Aid and why is it important?
First Aid is the immediate, albeit temporary, help given to an injured or a sick person, before professional medical treatment can be provided. Anyone can be trained to administer first aid, with use of minimal equipment. To come to the assistance of a fellow human being, at a tragic time of need, is truly the duty of every citizen. Basic First Aid Training will already enable you to face up to a challenging crisis through a calm, yet effective, immediate response. You could truly make a difference to the life of a loved one, a neighbour, or of a complete stranger.
Successful completion of this Comprehensive Workshop will earn you certification from LIHS. Through practical exercises, we will cover treatment of:
· Bleeding, Burns, Fractures, Seizures, Strokes, Heart attacks, Diabetic emergencies, Shock, Choking, Cardiac arrest.
· Intensive, hands- on training in bandaging, splinting, lifts and carries.
· Heimlich Maneuver (choking), and the use of an AED.
About Lifesupporters Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS):
