Foliage Outdoors : Trek to Fort Tikona 21st July 2013

Tikona (also known as Vitandgad) is the dominant hill fort in Maval in western India. It is located near Kamshet around 60 km from Pune The village nearest the fort is called Tikona-Peth or Tokono-Peth. The 3500 ft high hill is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means “triangle”.

Difficulty: Easy


6:15 am : Reporting at Foliage Outdoors Office.
6:30 am: Proceed to Tikona by private bus. Travel time approx 1.5 hours.
8:00 am: Reach Campsite. Breakfast.
9:30 am: Reach base of the fort.
9:45 am:Start trek towards the Fort.
11:00 am: Reach top of the Fort.
11:45 am: Start descending the fort.
1:00 pm:Reach base of the Fort. Lunch.
2:30 pm:Proceed towards Hadshi Temple or Walen Dam.
5:00 pm: Depart back towards Pune.
7:00 pm: Reach Pune (Foliage Outdoors Office.)
