Andharban the Nature at its utmost

Andhar [अंधार] in Marathi means Darkness and Ban [बन] means jungle, so Andharban [अंधारबन] means dense dark forest. Andharban is one of the most beautiful trek in Sahyadris.

The trail starts at Pimpri dam, En-route we come across three streams (which may flooded during heavy rains – ropes and equipment’s recommended), later on it takes through Hirdi Village and ends at the Bhira dam which is the source of the Kundalika river.

What to See: Beautiful views of Bhira dam backwaters and Pimari Dam. This trails has very scenic view of Kundalika valley-Tamhini ghat. We can see the Ghangad, Tailbaila and Sarasgad. We can enjoy dense forest and many waterfalls during the trail. In 2016, we explored the rare flower named “Karvi”, which blooms after period of 8 years.
