The Ghodbunder Fort is located on the Ghodbunder village, Thane, Maharashtra, India. The Ghodbunder Fort is on the hill just south of the Ulhas River. Ghodbunder village is on the Thane-Borivli route. The fort has its historical ancestor regime where the fort was built by Portuguese later occupied by the Maratha Empire and the last became the headquarter of the east India’s company district.

The place is so called as on the period of Portuguese regime the Portuguese ruler used to trade Ghode (horses) with Arabs. The place is also being known by the name Cacabe De Tanna coined by the Portuguese ruler.

The fort is at its worst with degradation, one entrance the fort with broken entrance and visualize many mansions in front of many rooms. There is a hall with tall walls on the top of the fort. There is a bastion ahead. On climbing this bastion, one can see a marvelous door. From the top of the bastion the surrounding region and Ulhas creek can be notify.
