# 03 DUKE’S NOSE – Climbing & Rappelling

Duke’s Nose, named due to its resemblance to the nose of Duke Wellington in a reclining position. At a distance of 8 km from Khandala Railway Station, This site is also popular for thrilling activities like trekking, hiking, rock climbing and valley-crossing, which attract many adventure enthusiasts.


The Kokankada cliff is the major attraction of Harishchandragad. This cliff is not only vertical but also over-hanged like a hood of a cobra camping at kokankada 3500 Feet above from sea level which is 2-3 hrs trek from Pachnai route.

Visapur Fort is situated in Lonavala around 100kms away from Mumbai city and 5km away from Malavli station. Inside the fort, there are caves, cisterns of water, a decorated arch and old houses to see.1 hour to reach the top. mesmerizing view of Pavana Dam & its backwaters.


Rajmachi is one of the most popular forts in the Lonavala region. Suitable for beginners, it is around 16km away from Lonavala station, offers an amazing view of the Sahyadri Mountains and the backwaters of Shirota Dam.

Peth is situated in Shahapur taluka, Karjat district. Height of this fort is 3100 ft above sea level. This fort is also known as Kothaligad because of the internally excavated stairs at the fort top.This fort is very small in size but was used as an ammunition storage and defense station during Sambhaji Maharajs era.
