Literacy India

Literacy India a non-profit organization started its journey in 1996 with the objective of empowering underprivileged children and women and making them self-sufficient. We have endeavored to meet this objective through imparting education and developing a platform for the underprivileged children to achieve a variety of skills in performing arts, science, technology and vocation, giving the children basic human values, dignity of labour, self belief and dreams with an ultimate goal of enabling them to support themselves and hopefully, their families.

Our primary objectives are to: –

* Identify girl children from under privileged backgrounds and help build their confidence and awareness.
* To support children in active schooling to provide minimum levels of learning.
* To use role models to inspire the youth to take up issues concerning their communities.
* Provide women and children with vocational skills.
* Our Focus is also to economically empower women from Rural & slum areas.
* To nurture, mentor and assist children to become human resource assets in the community and to restore dignity amongst the underprivileged.
