Trek to Morlegad, Saleli, Sattari, North Goa 22nd July 2012

Morlegad is a natural fort known in the history of Goa. It was with Sawantwadkar Bhosle, the rulers of the region. In the 18th century Rane’s of Sattari captured the fort and handed over to Portuguese.

It was one of the important fort during the medieval period and used to provide protection for Sattari region. It was the first fort on gateway of chorleghat. It has seasonal waterfall, perennial springs, sacred groves which are the natural habitat for flora and fauna.
