saad mountaineers Lonar Crater Educational Trip 3rd Feb 2017

The Lonar crater is the world’s only salt water lake in basaltic rock, believed to have been caused by a meteorite hitting Earth around 52,000 years ago. It is surrounded by forests with a large variety of birds, particularly peacocks, owls, red-watt led, Lapwings and ducks & more than 100 different types of species are found here.


For all nature lovers, sky observers, Astronomy lovers & for all students  “ SAAD MOUNTAINERS MUMBAI ” In collaboration with Nehru planetarium researchers going to organize educational trip to this wonderful  & world famous LONAR Crater.

Occasion : Alpha Century Meteor shower. (20 Meteor per Hour)

      Following events will be conducted:

1)   Lonar crater Parikrama & observations.       

2)   Telescope sky observations for beginners.

3)   Astronomy & Telescope making for beginners.

4)   Night sky & Meteorites observations.

5)   Renewable Energy.    

6)   Quiz & Games.
