Nature Heritage Walk with Suraj Pandit.
“Know the Glimpse of Kanheri”
8th April 2018, SUNDAY

SGNP welcomes you all for enjoying a unique Nature Heritage Walk that brings together the best of nature and ancient culture and learn the best of both. This walk will have a special focus on the Kanheri caves located in the heart of SGNP. Carved out of a single black rock, the cave complex consists of more than 140 caves with the earliest ones dating to more than 2000 years back.
Participants will be introduced to these caves by Suraj Pandit. This walk guarantees a never before experience of the forest and probably the earliest civilization of Mumbai city.

Venue: Nature Information Centre.
Date: 8th April 2018, SUNDAY.
08.00 AM – Assemble at the Nature Information Center, SGNP for registrations.
08.30 AM – Depart to the Kanheri caves in SGNP vehicle.
09.00 AM – Nature Heritage walk with Suraj Pandit.
11.00 AM – Depart from SGNP in SGNP vehicle.

Charges: INR 550 per participant.

Charges inclusive of: Kanheri caves ticket, Expertise, Internal Transport.
Charges don’t include the main gate entry fee, Camera Charges at Kanheri gate.

1. Wear proper walking shoes. No sandals or slippers please.
2. Carry ample amount of water for yourself.
3. Refrain carrying costly items (except cameras) and jewelry for the trek.
4. Carry your own rainy Gears.

Profile of Programme Coordinator:
Dr. Suraj Pandit (Head of Departments of Ancient Culture at Sathye College, Mumbai). Dr. Suraj has studied these ancient caves extensively for more than a decade and his studies and explorations have earned him his PhD degree from Mumbai University.
